Connecting Stripe

Connecting Stripe

Paid ticket types need a connected Stripe account. Free events don't — you can publish
and take free bookings without ever touching this page.

1. Open payouts

An owner opens Payouts from the dashboard. Only owners can start or manage Stripe
onboarding.

2. Choose your business structure

Pick whichever fits your organisation:

  • Registered charity (incorporated, e.g. CIO or charitable company)
  • Registered charity (unincorporated or trust)
  • Unincorporated association — most PTAs, clubs and village halls
  • Company
  • Sole trader

3. Complete Stripe's onboarding

You're taken to Stripe to fill in the details for your chosen structure. This is Stripe's
own form — TicketKind never sees or stores your bank details.

4. Wait for charges to be enabled

Stripe reviews the details you gave it. Once it confirms your account, TicketKind shows
Payouts connected, and paid ticket types can go on sale. Until then, paid ticket types
stay off sale even if the event itself is published.

5. See your balance and payouts

Once connected, Payouts shows your available and pending balance and the schedule
Stripe pays them on, plus a Recent payouts list and a Payout history panel from
Stripe itself — there's no separate Stripe dashboard to check.

6. Update your bank or business details

The same page embeds Stripe's own Bank and business details section, so you can
update them without ever leaving TicketKind or needing a separate Stripe login. If Stripe
needs anything from you — updated details, or a reason payouts have paused — a
notification banner appears here too.

7. Respond to a dispute

A Disputes section, also embedded from Stripe, lists any disputes on this account and
lets you submit evidence directly to Stripe. It's only for disputes — to refund a ticket,
go to the order in TicketKind instead (see Refunds and cancelling).
